April 21st is the last day to turn in your Car Raffle tickets and checks. You can drop your envelope and check in the collection or bring it to the office during the week.

This weekend our second collection will be for the church mortgage. Your contributions to the Debt Reduction collection will help us with our monthly mortgage payment of over $55,000. Thank you for your continued generosity and donations.

Next weekend the second collection will benefit Catholic Home Missions.
 
SAVE THE DATE: The following events are coming up. Please make note on your calendar and watch for further information in our bulletin, on our website or in future Flocknotes!!
 
Scheduled Monthly Events:
 
  • All-day Adoration is in the Parish Center Chapel from 7:00am until 7:00pm and on First Friday, all-night Adoration from 7:00pm is available in the church every First Friday with Saturday devotions on the First Saturdays of the month. 
  • Young Adults gather for coffee and breakfast the first Sunday of the month after the 9:30am Mass every month. 
  • Luminaries of Holy Mary will meet on the first Monday of the month in the Conference Room from 5:00pm to 6:30pm to discuss Fatima and pray the Rosary. 
  • Patricians meet monthly on the first Monday of the month at 7:00pm in Farrell Hall to discuss Catholic topics. 
  • Family Adoration is normally offered every third Saturday of the month starting at 10:00am in the new church. Saturday, April 18th from 10:00am to 11:00am. Bring the whole family!!!
  • Spaghetti Dinner and Pancake Breakfast are usually the second weekend of the month. Have a great dinner after the 5:00pm Mass on Saturday. Pancake Breakfast is served after the 7:30am and 9:30am Masses. 
  • Diapers, Wipes and Formula will be collected during the weekend of the fourth Sunday of the month and donations can be left in the foyer of the Parish Center. 
  • The second collection on the third Sunday of the month is for debt reduction. This Sunday the second collection is for Debt Reduction.
  • Food Pantry donation bags are usually given out the first weekend of the month with the collection through the second Sunday at 1:00pm.
  • Martha’s Table 4th Sunday Sandwich Collection will be on the fourth Sunday, only from 1-3 PM.Drop off at the back of Farrell Hall (Door 4). Full details at tinyurl.com/MTSandwiches. 
 
Upcoming Events:
 
Bingo is going to be played on April 25th. Proceeds will benefit the Car Ministry. Chili and hot dogs will be served and it begins at 6:30 in Farrell Hall. Bakers are welcome!
 
Youth Ministry is hosting a Talent Night on April 27th at 6:00pm. All are welcome. Entry is free but snacks and food proceeds will benefit the Youth Program.
 
Come see the Youth Theatre Ministry in showing of “The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring” on May 7th at 7:00pm in St. Joseph’s Hall.

SMOS is joining Holy Spirit Parish for the VA March for Life on April 22, 2025. To RSVP, please email  jonathanr@stmaryofsorrows.org.

The Boutique Ladies will hold their Spring Sale on Saturday, May 2nd from 10:00am to 4:30pm and on Sunday from 8:30am to 1:00pm. The Sweet Shop needs your help with your goodies. See the bulletin for details.

The Knights of Columbus invite parishioners to Polish Night on Saturday, May 16th starting at 6:30pm. See the bulletin for details and sign-up information.

Fr. Seh is the Spiritual Director for a walking pilgrimage, The Way of St. James, El Camino from August 22-September 1, 2026. See the bulletin for details.

Start saving your donations for the Parish Yard Sale. Collection begins the afternoon of June 7th with the sale on June 12th through 14th. Do you have some time to spare the week of June 7-14, come help with the Yard Sale. There are many tasks and areas that need volunteers to help. Contact Kristin Merrigan at kamerrigan@hotmail.com. Look for information on an organizational meeting coming up.

Vacation Bible School is being held the week of August 3rd through August 7th. More information coming.

2025 Donation statements were emailed out a couple of weeks ago. If you would like a hard copy or did not get a statement, please email Irene Alexander at irenea@stmaryofsorrows.org. If you have a discrepancy, please email Kathy Coleman at kathyc@stmaryofsorrows.org. Please put “STATEMENT” in the memo line when you email either staff member.

Mother’s Day is coming up and we are offering Mass Intention cards in the Parish Front Office during weekday business hours. The 7:30am Mass on Mother’s Day will be for those intentions.
